A study was completed for the interchange of I-40 and NM 118 at Exit 8, approximately 3.4 miles east of Manuelito. The selected alternative is being carried forward into design development. The improvements will address: aged, dilapidated and deficient bridge structure over NM 118; poor stopping sight distance on NM 118; poor stopping sight distance for I-40 exit and entrance ramps; and deficient deceleration and stopping sight distance for the interchange exit ramps. The goal is to have Design completed by summer 2027
